How Meditation is Good for your Heart

In this present scenario with the advancement of technology, people are forced to live a sedentary lifestyle. People have no time to relax their body and mind. In this 24-hour work culture, it is a necessity to do meditation. It plays a very crucial role to refresh and regenerate the energy of a person.

What is meditation?

Meditation is a practice of mind.  It can include almost any practice that trains the attention or teaches calm and compassion. Meditation calms our mind or soothes our soul. It is referred to as a stage of consciousness when the mind is free to scattered thoughts and ideas. In other words, meditation is a peace of mind. Meditation aims to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and pain. It helps to increase self-concept and well being.

According to OXFORD AND CAMBRIDGE DICTIONARIES:  Meditation is “to focus one’s mind for a while and to engage in a mental exercise to reach a heightened level of spiritual awareness.

All in all, meditation is concentration or awareness of the mind.        

 HOW MEDITATION IS GOOD FOR HEART

Meditation is a key indicator of our heart health. It helps in keeping our heart healthy.

1- Problem of a heart attack-

Nowadays the problem of heart attack is increasing alarmingly. To keep away from this problem, People who meditate regularly have fewer risks of heart attacks and strokes. Meditation can produce changes in brain activity and can also control heart rate, breathing, and blood pressure. It is generating immense positivity.

According to the Journal of American Heart Association meditation may play a role in reducing the risk of heart diseases.

2- Improve heart functions:

Meditation can improve heart functions in the right way; regular practice can enhance our outlook on life and motivate us to maintain many healthy heart behaviors. It inspires us to follow a proper diet and getting good sleep.

3- State of balance:

Meditation is a state of balance between heart and mind. By doing this it can slow and regular our heartbeat which is very significant for our body.

4- Oxygen consumption:

Meditation is very useful for oxygen consumption. Oxygen consumption is a process that is dependent on the delivery and extraction of the oxygen. While doing this whole process the amount of oxygen in venous blood is returned to the heart. This process of oxygen consumption keeps the heart healthy.

5- Emotionally stronger-

Meditation makes a person emotionally stronger. By doing this we can able to pray from within our heart and do good deeds love from our heart. We recognize the reality and more grateful to GOD for everything. We can understand the feelings of others and express ourselves very comfortably.
